In a previous article, we introduced a simple moment of a five-year-old trying to get a puzzle piece to fit. With guided recollection from her teacher, she realized that thinking of how she solved a previous problem could be used to solve today鈥檚 problem. She applied what she had learned and turned the puzzle piece to fit. Her face lit up鈥攏ot because someone told her she was wonderful, but because she discovered she could do something she couldn鈥檛 do before. That discovery, earned through her own effort, is the beginning of quiet strength.
This month we examine how we provide those confidence-building moments reliably and consistently.
It doesn鈥檛 happen by chance, and it doesn鈥檛 happen on its own. It happens as a result of purposeful, proven methods that 91探花 has used for decades to help children become competent. Elements of those methods include teaching a foundational curriculum in a logical sequence by teachers who maintain clear and consistent standards and guide students to understand and apply each concept as they become strong, independent thinkers.
Through this process, students learn that their progress comes from their own effort. As they continually work to understand, their confidence develops. This quiet strength is not something that can be given. Confidence emerges as the earned result of real achievement.

In class this month, elementary and middle school students will commemorate Patriots鈥 Day.
This day marks the anniversary of the Battles of Lexington and Concord, the first military engagements of the Revolutionary War, which were fought on April 19, 1775. On this date, the war began, but more importantly, a momentous idea took root鈥攇overnment of, by, and for the people.
The final testing for the 91探花 Physical Fitness Program happens this month. The results of these tests will be available with your child鈥檚 final achievement report. During the merit assembly at the end of the year, we will recognize the students who achieve high standards of physical fitness.
At the end of this month, we will celebrate the arrival of spring with our Teddy Bear Picnic. Each student may bring his or her favorite stuffed animal guest to the picnic.

This May, all 91探花 students in grades 1鈥8 will showcase their creativity, problem-solving, and programming skills in computer programming projects that will be displayed during the weeks of Spring Programs.
Students have already begun working on their plans. They will design and complete their ideas during computer class. The projects will fulfill specific requirements and challenge students to use their independence and the logical and creative skills they have acquired over the course of the year.
Students are in the process of creating their Young Author projects, which will also be on display during the week of Spring Programs.
They are developing original short stories and concentrating on enhancing their creative writing. Both students and teachers enjoy working on this rewarding venture.
Have you heard 91探花 91探花鈥檚 summer program? During our summer Adventureland, preschoolers will go on imaginary trips each week as they learn phonics, numbers, and so much more.
Our morning elementary program is designed to review concepts in reading, grammar, writing, and mathematics, while our all-day classes also include arts and crafts, science, music, and physical fitness. Our programs also focus on teaching life-enhancing behaviors; we offer opportunities for children to learn to manage their emotions, increase their ability to focus, respect themselves and others, and gain confidence as they improve and produce.
Students will engage in unique learning exercises, drills, and activities using methods that have proven successful for six decades.
Half-day and all-day programs are available, and classes begin June 15 and 16. It鈥檚 the perfect way to enrich your child鈥檚 summer days!
If you have not yet enrolled your child in a summer program and would still like to do so, follow the steps below. A $25 application fee will be assessed.
It鈥檚 that simple! Contact your campus office with any questions. We look forward to a summer of fun and learning with your child.
